We’ve all heard it, “Don’t give your dog chocolate it will kill him”. “How true is it”, you’re probably wondering. Do I have to rush him to an emergency vet if he ate one of my M&M’s? The truth is chocolate contains Theo bromine which dogs cannot digest and it causes liver failure. Type of chocolate matters. Milk chocolate is not as bad as dark chocolate and bakers chocolate (not sweet) is the worst. Size matters too. Big dogs can eat small amounts of milk and dark without problems. Little dogs have more problems with these and Bakers chocolate can kill them all with only a small amount.
