There’s one day that comes around about once or twice during the year that many people fear while others seem to enjoy and use for entertainment. This day is Friday the 13th, and there are a few facts about it that you might find interesting. Friday the 13th will only occur three times at the most during one year. The longest time period that will go by without a Friday the 13th is 14 months. About 20 million people are affected by the fears associated with the day. Since 12 is often considered a number that is complete and associated with the number of months in a year or the number of apostles of Jesus, many think that 13 is an unlucky number. This is why Friday the 13th is seen as unlucky for many who try to avoid this day.

Construction companies sometimes bypass labeling the 13th floor. Hospitals in many states and other countries don’t have rooms or floors associated with the number. On April 13, 2029, an asteroid is believed to be on track to come perilously close to earth. This date is on a Friday. There have been movies and television shows made about Friday the 13th, the first being released in 1980.
