Getting A Head Start On Christmas Shopping

It’s the one day of the year when stores put almost everything on sale. It’s called Black Friday, and it was created as a way for stores to get out of the red slump that they were in through the year and get into the black so that they could end the year on a positive note as most profits were written in black numbers. Today, Black Friday is known as the biggest shopping day of the year. It’s a day when families can get started on their Christmas shopping or finish their holiday shopping because the day is always the Friday after Thanksgiving. Some stores have started offering deals on Thanksgiving evening, but there are many that still wait until Friday morning to open their doors. Retailers used to worry that shoppers wouldn’t have enough time to complete their holiday shopping, which is why Thanksgiving and Black Friday were given the days that they were given in 1941. The early date is now a way to give shoppers an extra week of savings for their Christmas shopping and an extra week for stores to decorate and try to put shoppers in the mood to make purchases instead of waiting until December.
