Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days of the year to spend time with your family. Everyone gathers together to cook and enjoy a meal together, some families decorating the Christmas tree later in the day or watching a football game. The day after Thanksgiving is one of the busiest for plumbers. With the combination of preparing meals and washing pots and pans to washing all of the dishes and utensils that are used for dinner, there are usually a few clogged sinks that plumbers have to deal with. Plumbers also receive an abundance of calls about clogged garbage disposals. There are more guests in homes that require more showers, baths, clothes that need to be washed and other activities that use more water, putting a strain on the septic and drain system of the home. Most calls can be handled the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, but some calls have to wait until Sunday to get answered because of the vast increase in the number of homes that plumbers have to respond to after Thanksgiving. There are also odd items found in drains, such as turkey bones, jewelry and the occasional eating utensil that gets lost in the garbage from the plates.
