What is the smallest country in the world? What is the smallest country in the world?

Vatican is the smallest country in the world. It’s basically a walled enclave inside of Rome, Italy.
The population of Vatican is about 800 people, and the whole territory is only 0.2 square miles. This country is so small that it doesn’t even have a street address.
Although it is so small, but is the spiritual center of the Roman Catholic Church. The Vatican City came into existence in 1929 and is thus clearly distinct from the central authority of the Roman Catholic Church, known as the Holy See, which existed long before 1929. Ordinances of Vatican City are published in Italian. Official documents of the Holy See are issued mainly in Latin. The governement of this small country consists of the members of the Catholic Church.
he official languages of the Vatican City are Latin and Italian. In fact, its ATMs are the only ones in the world that offer services in Latin!
Another interesting thing about Vatican is that it has no taxes.
